Following the advice issued on COVID19, the Sharpener has been moved from 5 April 2020 to 13 September 2020 and has replaced this year's Howler sportive.
Test if your training has been on target, with a little short, sharp, shock treatment!
Running from the picturesque Buckingham village of Haddenham, The Sharpener is well established as a lively sportive running through the beautiful Chiltern Hills and South Oxfordshire.
The Sharpener - What do I get on the day?

Route info and pricing
We make sure to pack in some challenging terrain for you with 3,900ft ascent of climbing in the 110km route, and 2,500ft in the Short 65km Sharpener. Then ‘warm you down’ with coffee and hotdogs.
Entry for adult riders (18 years and over)
- Either distance £23
Entry for junior riders (15-17 years)
- The ‘Short Sharpener’ is open to junior riders at £15 (Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)

Food and drink
We’ll provide you with coffee and tea, at registration and we’ll visit well stocked feed-stations with toilet facilities, throughout the course. There is one station on The ‘Short’ Sharpener (55 km) route, whilst The Sharpener (100 km) has two stations, plus when you return, we’ll have a hot dog ready for you.
